1641 Protestation Returns for Cornwall, England


The Protestation Return comprises of a list of all male parishioners of the and over. The return for Cornwall was complete except for four parishes and comprises some 30,000 names. The missing parishes are Jacobstow, St Austell, Truro and St Neot.

1664-1666 HEARTH TAX RETURNS FOR PRISK FAMILY

This tax was levied from 1662 to 1689 yearly on all persons with a house
worth twenty shillings
or more. Those with a house worth less were exempt as were those in receipt
of poor relief. In
1664 and 1666 all hearths were checked by the local constables and recorded.
