Opened the box and did not find an exhaust tip. Is it not included in this kit?

About an hour to remove the old exhaust and install this kit. everything fits as it should and it sounds a lot better than the straight pipe that was in the truck when I bought it

The system was very easy to install on my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT. The hardest part of the job was removing the old, factory-installed, all-in-one exhaust system from the cat flange back. I had to soak the spring bolts in liquid wrench and grab the nuts with vice grips to get them off. Once freed from the hangers and the catalytic converter flange, the original one-piece system would not pull out due to inadequate room to pull through (the rear shock and brake lines prevent me from pulling the system backward or forward). So I took a sawzall to cut the pipe at both ends of the muffler near the welds to the pipe, and then I was able to remove the old system in three pieces. In addition, it was a bit difficult to remove the old system mounting rods from the rubber insulators/hangers. A little WD40 and bearing grease helped with sliding the mounts out of the rubber insulators. It was still a pain to get them off. Fortunately, the mounts that come with this kit are smooth without knobs on the ends (like the factory ones), so they slip in and out of the insulators with ease.As to the Dynomax kit specifically, it did not come with a bolt, washer, and lock nut for the muffler clamp (I don't know if that was intended or simply missed when they packaged the system). So, I had to make a quick trip to a local auto parts store for a 1/4-inch stainless steel bolt (20 mm long), washers, and lock nut. I also recommend that when you purchase this kit, you also pick up a tube of Permatex muffler and tailpipe sealer. I put a bead of the sealer at the joints connecting both ends of the muffler and then more under the two clamps at the joints. I tried it without the sealer and could not get a good seal. The sealant, however, worked like a charm - no leaks whatsoever. I also recommend purchasing replacement spring bolts (2 bolts); to me, it was worth the extra $$$ to have fresh bolts to work with. The sound from this muffler is slightly deeper then the factory muffler that came with the truck. The difference is most noticeable when the truck kicks into lower gear when climbing up hills. Overall, this is a great system that someone with basic mechanical skills (like me) could easily install. I'm very pleased with this purchase and most definitely give it 5 out 5 stars.

After 125K miles, my 2005 Ford Ranger 4x4 needed a new exhaust system. I wanted a cat-back system with a little more growl, but not to the point of putting my hearing aid into valve toss. Enter the Dynamax System as described. This is a cat-back, single exhaust system. It came well-packaged with all the necessary hardware for a normal installation. I ordered the optional rubber hanger insulators and exhaust flange bolt/spring kit. The tip enlarges from 2-1/2" to 2-3/4" and is stainless steel. It is a nice, clean touch.I decided to let a local shop install it. Everything went together well. Although the system came with clamps, they recommended welding the pieces together for increased durability and stiffness. Wise move. The sound is definitely different versus the OEM system. I had no expectations of improved performance because the rest of the system up-front is still OEM.From a tuning standpoint, the resonant frequency occurs in the 2300-2700rpm range with my 4.0L SOHC engine. It's always been there; I just didn't pay much attention to it.My truck has a cab-level cap over the box. This creates a drum-effect that amplifies the frequency points though the new muffler. This system on a truck without a cap might sound a less assertive than mine. For me, this system is a good fit for my truck. The cost was very reasonable considering the number of stainless steel parts in the new system.

Installation was really easy. Did not require new spring bolts but put new ones on anyways. Supplied pipe clamp did not deal properly so went to local parts store and bought regular muffler pipe clamp and all is good now. Can't beat this setup for the price. Highly recommend.

I have a 2009 ext cab with 150k miles. the stock exhaust was okay. Time to upgrade due to pulling a work trailer. This is the easiest we installed. Follow the instructions, and you will need a sawsall for the hangers and the pipe ( we cut it just after the muffler ). The fit was excellent .The sound is no louder than stock, just a nice throaty sound. The stock muffler is tinning. Good quality, works as planned. I would buy another. The only con is the muffler clamp is dead center on the muffler, which shows the bolt, not a clean finish. Our tip and pipes changed color with in a week, no biggie.UPDATE.......as of May 25 2017 with 46K miles on this Exhaust system, the exit pipe weld has broken lose. Dynomax has a limited lifetime warranty, but who's doing the warranty? Amazon or Dynomax ?

Product fit my 1999 Ford Ranger XLT (extended cab). This catback system is a straightforward install. Dynomax gives you all the hardware you need in this kit. This doesn't cost much more than the stock parts which is why I bought it. This muffler has a 'straight-through' design, so, it's pretty loud. There isn't much muffling going on. This doesn't bother me; loud pipes save lives :) . The muffler is stainless steel which yes, its corrosion 'resistant', but in the midwest, that means this muffler will last me 2 years tops (lots of snow and salt). The exhaust clamps are beefy, but my exhaust leaks a little with those. If this bothers you, I'd recommend regular clamps for your local autoparts store.Though, unrelated to the parts Dynomax gives you, I had a problem with the exhaust flange being rusted to !#@$. Catback systems don't give you the flange (which is standard), but, if you have this problem, you might have to weld a flange/doughnut-thingy on the cat side. I was lucky enough to have a buddy weld it. If you can't weld, you probably need a new cat (which sucks).Overall, good system. As long as you don't have a problem with the exhaust flange, you have all the parts you need in this cat-back kit. Good fit for the truck: its unrefined and loud.
