I am short - finally admitted it - and can barely reach the items on the second shelf. This really comes in handy!

This is a very sturdy step stool. Hands down, definitely one of the sturdiest folding stools I’ve ever used. And at only 60 inches/152 cm tall, I’ve needed step stools my entire life. It also stores easily in a slim space; I have mine tucked between the fridge and the adjacent cabinet. On the other hand, it is somewhat cumbersome to open up the legs on this stool and, similarly, to extend the legs. It requires two hands, one to pinch the button locks and the other to move out the leg, and the button locks have tight springs that require a surprising amount of hand strength. I have moderate arthritis and tendinitis in my hands and wrists, and it is painful for me to push in the button locks. I have also caught my fingers in the hinges on multiple occasions, mostly because I was in a hurry, but also b/c the legs seem over-engineered for their purpose. In the absence of a better collapsible stool, I am keeping this one and will continue to use it. But I hope the manufacturer adjusts the design to makes the button locks easier to open. It really would be great if the legs did not lock into the flat position but only needed to lock into the open position. That would be the single most simple and best change to improve this product.
