This cake board looks good and feels sturdy, but it falls a little short of the advertised 10 inches. The thickness is as advertised. One side is glossy, and the other is matte.I used it to frost a 9-inch cake, and the board felt too small to comfortably work with so I will need to use smaller cake pans for future use.

I got these because I wanted to bake a taller, heavier cake for a special occasion. I noticed the last time I used a regular cake board for a heavy cake it felt like it was bending and going to give way. I like these very much; they are more robust and look more professional as well. The top of the board is laminated so frosting won’t stain the board; so if you make a mistake it’s easy to clean up and start over. I had the board in the freezer for 10 minutes to firm up the cake, and the board showed no signs of distress. It traveled from the counter to the freezer, back to the counter and onto a fancy display plate, with no sign of wear. These are more expensive for the normal (one layer) cake boards, but they are worth it when handling a heavy cake. I will buy them again.

These are my new favorite cake drums for specialty and tiered cakes. One thing that drives me nuts about the foil covered ones are the "wrinkles" at the edges. that your scraper can hit on. These are completely flat which makes them better for beginners. They are grease proof, and easy for a stake to go through for tiered cakes. highly recommend

These are the perfect size for a 9" cake pan, and solves a problem we didn't realize we had. You need a place to decorate the cake, and once you've done that, you're kind of stuck - the cake is not moving off whatever it was resting on, usually a dinner plate. And then if the plate doesn't fit nicely in whatever box or container you are storing it in, you have to get creative with foil or plastic wrap.Now we decorate the cake on these and move it wherever we need, including moving from our plastic cake storage container to the fancier cake stand when we want to serve.

These are very thick cake boards. As such, they make moving cakes around fairly safe and much easier. I appreciate the fact that, depending on the cake and with a little care, they can be reused a few times.

Very thick and sturdy. It could be a bit cheaper but overall good quality, I was sure it wouldn't bend.
