ABOUT US

ABOUT US

In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world.

With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a merino wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering.

WITH YOU THROUGH IT ALL

Our Midweight styles have all the same natural qualities as our Lightweight Merino Wool, with greater insulation. Minus33 Merino Wool Clothing is perfect as a base layer for a day on the slopes or as an emergency pullover when a cold front rolls in just before you summit.

WHY MERINO WOOL?

MOISTURE WICKING

MOISTURE WICKING

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

INSULATES WHEN WET

INSULATES WHEN WET

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

UV PROTECTION

UV PROTECTION

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

RENEWABLE

RENEWABLE

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

100% MERINO WOOL ROGERS MOCK NECK MIDWEIGHT

Rogers Mock

When a full turtleneck is too much, this Rogers Mock Neck will still keep you warm and comfortable. The Rogers is a favorite of law enforcement, so you know it gets the job done. The 100% Australian Merino Wool is soft next to the skin and makes a great base layer, or can be worn by itself when you attend your next stylish dinner party.

Well worth the money! Soft, thick enough, warm and washes/dries like a dream.

I love this shirt. It’s warm, light and the collar is just right. My two issues is this; one it’s not made in the USA and two, it’s a bit pricy. I don’t understand why it can’t be made here and be less money. Now here’s the kicker, I’ll choke on it but will buy again.

These are expensive but extraordinarily comfortable. I use this in place of cotton long-sleeve mock-necks for working out, and they are warmer by far and wick moisture much better than the cotton shirts. Similar microfiber shirts are warm but they smell bad very quickly. The wool stays comfortable and fresh much longer than other products. Recommend very highly.

When I first got this thing, I lifted it up, and was like what the hell! The shirt is thin, light, and almost see through. This thing coukd not handle a cold temp day I thought. Well as it was the only shirt I brought, I figured I would run it through a good old fashioned Wisconsin winter. I was quite shocked. For something that is a third as thick, and probably half the weight of polartech or under armor artic level wear, I was shocked that it held up just as well, if not better than my other shirts. Didn't matter the temp, I only needed a windbreaker when it was, well, windy out. I was comfortable upper body wise with temps ranging from -10 through 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Obvously the colder the quicker I lost heat, but I never got to the point of popsicle cold. Going in and out of vehicles and buildings all night, the midweight is more than sufficient. I can only immagine the sweating with the polarweight. The wool is also soft, and almost no itch. You can feel just a little urge to scratch on the large parts of the body, but just an urge. I take one star off (would prefer to take 1.5 off ) for 1. Price. And 2. The mock turtle neck. The term is misleading, and on me, it did not look any different than just a normal necked shirt. If you can get past the price and need a warm weather under shirt, buy it.

Fantastic garment! I'd recommend it to anyone. I bought these for myself, my wife, my dad and both my sons at Maine Maritime U and SUNY Maritime U. We All love 'em. I want more of them! So, the garment is similar weight and feel to my cotton blend mock turtles except it's wool. It's a little bit scratchy, but I like it. I wear it solo and/or as a base layer. When it's really cold, I'll top it off with a heavy wool work sweater or layer a cotton mock in there for unsurpassed warmth.Care.You CAN and will WANT to wear your Minus33 ad infinitum. It will never smell foul or feel dirty etc. It's a go-to garment. Obviously, you'll want to wash it though. Here's how.Wash the garment BY HAND.Run some warm water into a sink(drain stopped) and add a cap of Woolite. Mix. Submerge the garment. Use two hands gently squeeze the garment to exchange soapy water through the fabric. After about 20 seconds, lift the garment and squeeze it into a ball to remove most of the water. Drain the sink. Note the color of the water. Repeat WITHOUT WOOLITE until the water runs clear. For the final squeeze, endeavor to get most of the water out but, DO NOT WRING the garment. Next, hang the garment and let drip dry. I use my shower door handle. Figure out what works best in your situation. I wash mine regularly and have ZERO holes, stretching, shrinking etc

This is the best thing I ever found for a cold or cool weather base layer. Great for wearing it alone around the house in cool weather or with a good wool sweater. The Merino wool does a fantastic job, not too warm not too cool. It also wicks away moisture if you work up a little sweat outside in the cold weather.I would recommend it to anyone working or playing outside in cool to cold weather - Hunters, campers, hikers, etc.Good idea to check out the Minus33 sizing guide on their website, I initially got an XXX that was a bit too big (but kept it), then ordered an XX-Large - fits just right.

This is the first time that I have ever worn Merino Wool. I will never go back to brands like Under Armour that use synthetic materials, at least when it comes to the cold. These are warm and they also feel amazing. I wasn't too hot when inside our clinic with the heat on or while outside around New York in the bitter cold. Perfect fit and looks great.

I bought this mock for doing GORUCK Challenges and I couldn't be happier. This thing is light weight, breathable, and helps keep you warm even when you are wet. No itchiness and feels good on the skin. Wash on cold and hang dry...easy. I have used and washed this many times and there are no signs of wear yet. For outdoor use I would highly recommend this product...well worth the money.Good luck!
