This is a lot more versatile than just barrel plugs. I use it for ball valves, lid edges, and even a gas valve. It's a tool you don't think you'll ever use, and then you have it in your tool bag because it's just the right thing. Mine is well cast metal, and tough. Well worth it, and I'm glad I got it.

I bought this for the sole purpose of turning a ball valve on my home water supply. I turn it off during vacations, and it’s extremely stiff. This tool works perfectly for that. Makes it so much easier for me to turn. I’ve also discovered it’s good at getting lids off 5 gallon buckets. My hands aren’t the strongest, and this little tool helps just enough.
