This is a solid board. The package makes it feel quite heavy, but the board itself is of a reasonable weight; the added heaviness is from the rods and the stand. I have some hand pain, so I was a bit worried about having to manipulate the board from the feel of it in the box, but it turned out to not be an issue at all. There board is nice and straight and all of the holes in it appear evenly spaced. The rods initially seemed as though they might be too flimsy to hold a granny square pulled taught for blocking, but upon use the work fine. They're thin, but I don't have any fears of them bending, and the holes in the board are the perfect size to hold them without movement that will interfere with the work you're doing, and deep enough that they aren't going to fall out, either. There are also plenty of rods, more than you'll ever need at one time for a board this size, which is good if you're like me and lose things as quickly as you can turn your head. They're quite long, so if you want to use the board as ad hoc storage for your granny squares while you're making them, you can definitely get quite a few on there. (Note that the granny square in the picture is made using Red Heart Super Saver & a 5.5mm hook, which is both what the label recommends and what I use most of the time.) The ends are flat, but they still go through a stitch without catching if that's what you need to do--look at the middle rods in my first photo to see.The stand is another win. It's lightweight on its own, but everything's made to fit together just perfectly. It does a good job of holding the blocking board upright if that's the way you want to use it, but it is not difficult to insert or remove if you decide to use the board lying flat. The hollows in the board are just barely long enough for the rods, which makes them just the tiniest bit tricky to grab. I'd keep them in the included bag until you need to use them. The hook in the first photo is a Boye ergonomic hook in 4.5mm size. It fits fine, but I don't think I'd try putting, say, a 7mm hook in there. Now, a few niggles, none of which were enough to knock off more than a single star (and I rate few things 5 stars anyway). One, the front of this board seems to be the uglier side of the wood. You can tell in the second and third photos how unevenly colored it is. This is evident on the back, but that's smoother and more polished and simply looks nicer. The wood doesn't feel sealed at all, which is a possible problem with blocking since you're going to either have wet pieces if they're wool or be using steam for acrylic. Several of the holes had little burrs on the inside, and there's a difficult-to-see bit on the side where the work surface joins the frame that sticks up and I think might now be in my pinkie, because I don't see it anymore but I've definitely at least scratched that finger on this. So I would definitely recommend hitting this with very fine gauge sandpaper or something before use. The work side of the board isn't exactly rough, but it's got an unfinished feel to it, and it's rougher than the side you're not using, when in fact it should be the other way around.Ultimately, the value is good, and the small issues don't seem like they affect the function very much. It's definitely worth it if you make a lot of motifs and want to properly block them before seaming them together like we should all be doing anyway.

This came with way more pegs than I’ll ever need to use at one time. The pegs fit well into the holes on the blocking board. Holes are close enough to accommodate most shapes and sizes needed for blocking, not just squares. The pegs almost fit in the tray. Some of them, not all of them. They get stuck in the tray. I have to flip the tray over to get the pegs out, and get a flat pry tool like a knife or spatula to get the stuck pegs out. So if the cutout are too small to hold the pegs, what are they for? I managed to get the board mostly into the drawstring bag, but not all the way. The fit is so tight that even if it did fit all the way, I can’t use the drawstring, and too tight to put anything else in the bag with the board, not the tray nor the pegs. The bag is basically too small for the board and too big for the tray and pegs. I’m scratching my head on why the bag is the size that it is. The board fits into the tray perfectly perpendicular. I’m not sure if this angle is an advantage for some reason or just a user preference? I’ll probably just lay the board flat to load it and maybe use the tray to store the pieces out of the way while they are drying. My board is fraying in one spot on the backside. I need to sand that spot down to prevent me getting splinters. That’s going to ruin the finish. Sad. The board itself looks nice and polished, except that one minor spot, and is a good weight, so a good purchase despite the shortcomings of the stand and bag. This could have been a great set up but it just falls short on a few points.

I didn't realize how sturdy it would be and that the yarn needles/embroidery needles would be of such high quality. the wood is a nice tone, which I know doesn't make it work better, but it looks great! I really like this set.

I'm a beginner to crocheting and was really struggling with keeping the squares square. This is really helping me with that. Now that I don't have to focus so hard on keeping the same tension, I am finding that I am habitually doing it, which is what I need! I am slowly gaining confidence and I think that this is the main reason for it. I'm hopeful that after I make a bunch of these granny squares, I'll be super good at it and can get them all put together to make a blanket that I'll be proud of. Definitely recommend this for beginners who are struggling with tension/keeping things straight.

The Crochet Blocking Board is sturdy, hefty, it appears to be bamboo with a contrasting color stained bamboo trim. It's a very nice looking board. The organiser tray also appears to be bamboo. The posting says high quality solid wood.It comes with 40 stainless steel rods, I checked with a magnet, and 4 steel crochet needles which aren't mentioned in the posting so that's a nice bonus. No matter how far you want to stretch your squares your not going to bend these rods or warp the holes. The board is 3/4 inch thick and 11-1/2 inches square. The hole spacing are 1/2 inch apart.I don't understand the purpose of the organizer tray. The rods fit exactly in the largest compartment with no room to pick them out, which requires you to pick the tray up and turn it over to get the rods out. Also the needles are to long for the smallest compartment. The storage bag is soft with a drawstring closer, but to small to fit the Blocking Board in? The bag is also too big for the rods, and the needles will poke through the material.I'll repurpose the bag and put the needles and rods in a similar sized pouch. The board is a nice addition to the crocheting hobby and I like that its bamboo or at least appears to be
