This sump-pump is actually smaller than I imagined, judging by the pictures on the product page. But its weight is around 11 pounds (!!!) and the size is about 6 inches in diameter and 8 inches in height. The pump is exceptionally well-made and built to last a lifetime, IMHO. For its size, it sure moves a lot of water (4000 GPM). The whole pump is made of stainless steel and IPX8 rated. Even the top handle is all metal with an anti-slip rubber cover. The only plastic part is the cord clip on the handle and hose adapters. I have not disassembled the pump yet, so I'm not sure if the impeller is made of steel or plastic, but I think it is plastic too, if I see it correctly through the water outlet. The cord is fairly long, about 16 feet. The top handle allows for easy carrying the pump around. The device comes with a rope that you can use to lower it down and pull it up from your pool. It comes with a set of adapters for different hose connector sizes, and all you need is a hose. The only thing that I'm missing is the water sensor that would start the pump automatically once water rises up. But so far, it works great in manual mode and runs very quietly considering its power. Also, the pump's inlet is located close to the ground, and it “sucks” water at about 1 inch depth. While the manual is not very clear, judging by the construction, I'm pretty sure it can pump muddy and dirty water without any problem. But if you plan to use it in the ground, I strongly recommend you to wrap it in a mesh bag to filter out soil, dirt, and rocks and prevent damage to the impeller. We plan to use it to evacuate water from a lower area of our property that is prone to flooding in the next rain season, and I'm sure it will take care of it without difficulties! End to end, it feels like a great heavy-duty high quality sump pump, and I highly recommend it!

This pump comes with most everything you might need, including a multiple adapters that can take you from the 1.5" female pipe threads on the pump to hose, barb, or a reduced male pipe thread size. Some PFTE pipe tape is even included along with a tether rope. The stainless body is quite nice and better than plastic. The impeller appears to be plastic. Holes in the side body should prevent the pump from picking up any debris large enough to jam the impeller, which appears to be plastic. Base is solid metal, so water suction is only from the side holes. Handle has a solid feel and it has a plastic pad where your hand grips so you don't pick up sharp metal.I found this pump to be pretty quiet in operation and it was able to do 400 gallons of clean water in about 10 minutes, which is pretty impressive. It can get the water level down to about 1/4". I really like the 16.4 foot 3-prong power cord, I can get to most locations without an extension cord.Beware that there are no UL or other safety listings for the pump shown on the label. Pump ships in Styrofoam, so be sure to check the pump's water output for any stray pieces, as was the case for me - see picture.Impressive performance and nice design for a complete pump kit!

Pump arrived JUST in time to help out my new neighbor with a small, 3-foot deep pond that had been sitting full since the last owners left 4 months ago under a tarp added for safety.Was impressed with the fit and finish of this pump - beyond just the shiny metal exterior (which really does look sharp, by the way). No sharp edges, no unmatched joints with the other metal parts - clearly this was built well and to last. The 16-foot cable is hard-wired and waterproofed. The package included a decent set of plastic adapters, one of which connected nicely to a 75-foot garden hose we had available. It even included a piece of nylon rope we could use to lower the pump to the bottom of the pond instead of just dropping it in and lowering it using the power cord. (This is a nice addition.)Once in the pond - WOW. This thing can move some water. Even having to go out across the lawn, over a 3-foot fence and into a storm drain, it made quick work of the water in the pond, as well as algae and general yuck in the long-ignored water. After dealing with sump pumps which were fidgety to use and clogged easily in the past, this one is really impressive. The stainless exterior also made it easy to wash off with a rag and water to look shiny and new.A couple of SMALL issues -The 16 foot cable is a little short for a pump like this, which may need to operate away from an outlet - but it worked ok with a heavy-gauge extension cord. You just need to tie the extension cord off to make sure the weight of the pump doesn't pull the connection underwater. I'd prefer metal adapters in place of the plastic ones and may try to swap that out before I need to use the pump again.But overall? This is a great pump that will meet most needs for moving water around when you need to. The metal housing helps with durability, but the motor inside has plenty of power and the design of the bottom of the pump lets you get down to only an inch or so of water on a flat bottom. I highly recommend it for general and emergency use around the house.
