My family was looking for something to stop all of us from putting our hands all over the ice cube bin in the freezer during cold and flu season. These scoops are just what we needed. They're very sturdy plastic and aren't structurally affected by being in the freezer all the time. They're big enough to get a good size scoop of ice for large mugs and cups, but small enough to not take up too much space in the ice drawer. The fact that there's 12 of them is handy in case one accidentally gets thrown in the trash (this has already happened) or in case one gets broken or excessively dirty or whatever. Great for ice, would certainly work for candy or other snacks.

I got this to replace our metal ice scoop. The only handy place to keep the scoop is in the freezer ice bin, but the metal freezes then sticks to my fingers whenever I use it. The plastic doesn’t stick at all, even while being stored in the ice bin. It seems pretty thick and solid, though eventually I think it could crack from crashing against the ice if used commercially. We use it a few times a day. I almost wish the scoop was colored – maybe a light blue or something, so if it does break I can find the pieces. Since there is a generous 12 pack, I will replace them if they crack. If you use this on something else (flour, sugar, candy sprinkles, beans, etc) it should last indefinitely. These are the perfect size to use in cannisters of flour, sugar, coffee beans, etc. They would be lost in a large bin. They are comfortable to grip, and nest nicely if not yet in use.

I got these scoops for an upcoming Christmas dance for young kids. Its decorated in a Candyland theme and we were having a candy station. These scoops were perfect for scooping the candy into small individual cups and kept their hands out of the big jars. The plastic is strong enough to handle repeated use.
