they are leak-proof,, holds 2.3 oz of liquids. But, they are white, not translucent at all. the only way to see level or color of contents is to take cap off. In my experience, writing with Sharpie doesn't last.

I got these for a recent vacation. We were five people, including two kids, in a minivan driving to Florida from Maryland (yes, it went as you're thinking, with two kids in tow. I am never doing that again.). Since we had very limited room in the van, I wanted to get travel bottles for all of the "liquid" stuff - lotions, shampoo/conditioner, dish soap for washing bottles, mouthwash, etc. These bottles worked perfectly! They held just enough of everything for a 10 day vacation. They are leak-proof and the bottles are a good thickness - not flimsy or easily cracked. They did just what I needed them to do :)
