Hook head design: the use of 1055 steel hand forged and quenched many times to refine a good strong hardness, the durable sharp angled point digs into the wood at an angle easily.
The head of the grip hook: the use of reinforced steel covenant for solid locking, the hook handle with an ancient tree beech wood, growth age has a certain age, to ensure that the wood is hard enough to anti-shock.

Well tempered steal and as close to the pickaroon I had while working in a sawmill in my youth. Handle is too short but can be replaced with a 20" handle for the perfect tool.

This pickaroon is kind of really rough made, but it seems to be perfectly functional and nothing broke of so far. It is not cheap so I am not fully sold on it, but if that is something you need and you are okay with the price then go for it because it is well made and most likely will last for a while. However, if it falls apart on me soon then I will come back to update this review accordingly.

She’s not pretty. This thing got kerchunk stamped out of a big stamping machine then was minimally touched up. It’s a rough finish with the tooling marks very evident. That said it is functional and does it’s job. Came with some lanyard string and this rubber sleeve thing that I’m not sure what it is there were no instructions. I thought is was supposed to be a handle sleeve but once you get it on the handle it’s loose and slides up and down defeating the purpose of a handle grip. 🤔 Maybe someone could enlighten me on its purpose?

Well made pickaroon with a very vice profile pick tip. Sinks into wood rounds with minimal effort. Have used it quite a bit and so-far the handle and head have held up nicely. I wish this head was offered in a longer handle.

I saw the two reviews for this item and was intrigued. It is rough as already described but so am I. It looks like is was forged during the mid evil times. When not in use it looks great hanging next to my wood stove. Very happy.
