My husband is a 4x and others suspenders failed to work out. He loves these. The material is comfortable against his skin (he wears them under his shirts) and the clips are metal and easy to use.

Heavy duty? I’m not so sure about that. These are quality made but nothing that suggests it would withstand rigorous activity without having issues. They are nice suspenders. Good craftsmanship generally speaking the adjusters are plastic. For me, there are a couple things that make them unusable because I’m a really big guy. 1. They are not nearly long enough. 2. The width is what they say but I’d hope for something wider, especially for something heavy duty. These are definitely made for someone of average size or smaller. Definite not made for a tall torso.

These hold very well, even though the hooks aren't top quality (they're a bit small and don't open very easily), however once hooked they aren't going anywhere. One thing to consider is depending on how your belt loops are in the back, you may have to attach both hooks to the same center belt loop, which may tend to pull your pants high in the center. Another key point is that unlike the photos in the ad, I'm 6 ft tall and I have these adjusted almost to the very extent of their range. So if you're taller than 6'1" or maybe 6'2" these may be too short for you or they will be very stretched trying to wear them. Since they fit me however, these work well with heavier work pants and jeans, and are a good supplement to my dressier suspenders that have clips instead of hooks. I wear these all day comfortably.

So far I am liking these suspenders. The straps are much softer than some of my other suspenders, so I was even able to wear them under my tshirt one day and it was still comfortable. The only complaint I have so far is that the X connector in the back is made out of a material that is probably faux leather or something. It doesn't work too well under the shirt if you are getting hot and sweaty working outdoors as I was. But the rest was great. The other thing I noticed is that the belt loop clip openings are small, so it isn't the easiest thing to connect to my belt loops. But it's a minor quible and to me not worth knocking off a star as overall these worked great.
