I don’t normally write reviews, but this tripod is AMAZING! Very high quality, easily portable using the case straps as a backpack, and very reasonably priced. I used it for the first time recording video of a 3-day volleyball tournament in DC with my GoPro 10 and captured every moment for the team. The height of this tripod enabled a much better view of the action than traditional camera tripods, to the delight of parents, players and the coach - using the higher video angle to easily show player movement on every play. This is the only tripod that I’ll use going forward. It’s literally a game changer!I used a rechargeable lithium battery, which stores perfectly in the tripod leg frame, and long cable to power the GoPro on a single charge all day vs changing GoPro batteries. It comes with one cable clip, but I ended up looping the power cable around each of the S-knobs down the pole to secure it firmly in place. So, I didn’t need the cable clip. The base is very stable - it could take a direct hit from a stray volleyball and would not be knocked around or over - unlike lesser tripods. The air cushion telescoping tube design is super nice, preventing runaway collapse of the tubing when making adjustments or taking down. And it was easy to turn the tubing of any section to adjust the camera view without rotating the legs, again - unlike other tripods.Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product!!

Great and wide footprint. Good stability and good quality. If I need another one, I wouldn’t hesitate buying it again.

odd use case on our end, but this "little" thing did great.2 negatives: 1, it can rust... quickly... especially the top mounting bolt. 2, the pinch warnings on the adjustable lags are no joke... even being careful, I still got my finger/hand pad.positives:very stable even in rough (jungle mountains in the pacific) terrain and high winds.light and easy to setup for its height.case is nice, but we ended up putting in a ski bag for air travel.

Being an avid photographer this tripod is a tool that lets me explore a new perspective capturing from a nearly 24ft raised height above the ground. It fits right into a padded carrying bag with heavy duty zippers yet still feels quite heavy to lug around. Height of 24' is the total extended length and while impressive depends somewhat on how far outwards base is widened since the tripod expands below to keep center column level & sturdy. On grassy terrain it felt quite stable minimizing top sizing or wobbling and does have multi way 1/4" to 3/8" sockets on top for mounting up gear.It came with a pair of braided cables to offset wind and further stabilizes the tripod head for capturing creative photos raised on elevation but lacks ground anchors. Internally aluminum shafts are spring loaded when releasing down equipment ensures that both the rubber gasket and springs add layer of safety dampening the columns in individual sections. While tripod legs are double layered, one of the main flaws was relying on plastic thumb screws that can be cumbersome to tighten fully. With this being considered this tall 24ft tripod is a unique way of lifting up cameras and robustly machined from aluminum.

This is an outrageously well-made tripod with unbelievable value. It is extremely sturdy and well made. The telescoping function works well with air-cushioned sections giving a lot of sturdiness. The clamps open and tighten easily and the base can be adjusted.I love the dual-threaded adapter that can be mounted in any direction giving a lot of flexibility. The height is IMPRESSIVE. I mounted a DJI Osmo Pocket to the top and used the tripod to emulate low drone flights in areas where it is not possible to fly.I was skeptical of the quality before I ordered it because the price was similar to a well made tripod of 6'. Don't be fooled by the low price: this is a great tripod and very glad I purchased.

A lighting stand - or tripod stand, if you prefer - that goes to 24' is quite something! It's a bit scary hoisting your several hundred or a few thousand dollar camera and lens to that height, but if you need to get the shot, you need to get the shot! The entire stand is pretty lightweight, given its size. I think most of my fellow cameramen would call it a "five stage" stand, as it has five main sections that nest inside one another, and when extended, make up the 24' in total height. Because the tubes are made of aluminum, the total weight is much less than if made with steel. But you do sacrifice some rigidity. On my testing, if you extend each section to its full length, not only is there some unnecessary sway, but there is a distinct bend to the entire stand. But there is a simple solution, before you start using the tie-downs (a great bonus!). Rather than extending each section to its maximum, reduce that about 10". The overall height won't really suffer too much, but you will find the total column much straighter.Something I have never seen - mind you, I am not a professional grip - is having three "Rocky Mountain" legs. That's the local term for an adjustable leg-length to help level out a stand on uneven terrain. Or you need to place a stand on a stair case. With the Rocky Mountain legs, you can simple adjust one leg down to meet the lower step. Simple and easy. But that feature is usually only on one leg - not all three! Impressive! The sections have springs inside the tubes, so when you are brining down your camera or a light, it is not going to slam into the bottom section. Rather, bringing something down can be done in a nice, gentle motion. In addition to the springs, each section also has "0-rings" which help to absorb any shock or impact. The overall fit and finish of the entire unit is excellent. I have one single impact on one leg, but that is not from anything, other than shipping. And, I hasten to ad, does not effect function in the least. The tie-down system is brilliant! You are furnished with a steel plate, that has three holes that accept one to three heavy-duty carabiners. Like any guy-wire system (or guy-rope, in this case...) you simply attach one end to the top of the stand (via that steel plate) and the other end to "something" that is not going to moving around on you. Could be a couple of sandbags, a cinder block, a steak driven into the ground - and solid object that will help to stabilize the top of the stand. The rope is heavy-duty, again, like all the other bits...Speaking of the top on the stand, you can attach a number of different item at the top. The top of the last section of the stand accepts a standard 5/8" pin. A number of different companies make such attachments. On this unit, the top plate has either 1/4" or 3/8" threads for mounting onto. You can simply flip the bits around to have whatever thread pattern you need. In fact, the top plate has been taped for three additional 1/4" points for other accessories. So many details have been thought out. That top plate for the guy-wire system? It comes with a safety-wire attached. The bottom feet on the stand? Non-marring rubber/plastic combo. Transport of the stand? Really well made padded soft case. Now get this part - loading-bearing weight? 22 pounds! That's amazing! At that weight and at that height, I would most definitely be using those guy-wires!Two last point I would like to make. First, because the whole point of this stand is to raise the camera - or a light - to a height, I would always placing a sandbag on each leg. It adds a lot of stability and it will give you a lot less worry!Second, this is a product you might think about getting sooner than later. It seems like both the US and Canadian federal governments are looking into banning drones, due to their possible use as a terrorist weapon. Not the drone, per se, but rather what you could attach to a drone. It's not law yet, and you can bet that there are huge groups of people who are opposing this. But there is a possibility. And if that happens, this product will become very valuable. For example, real estate has been using drones for those wonderful exterior shots of the front of the house. Well, at about 20-24' high, you are getting closer to that look. Not exactly, but at least it is "off the ground". Something to think about...Bottom line - an excellent product! Well planned, well made and with unique and clever ideas throughout. If you need height in your camera shot, or if you need to get a lighting fixture high to give the illusion of moonlight at night, this is wonderful tool to help you achieve the near impossible!

We use this with the antenna so that we can put it away when we are not at the trailer and it’s fabulous! Easy to set up and take down quickly if the weather turns bad.
