My husband is one of those guys who always wants to do the work himself rather than hire someone to do it. For anything that requires a ladder, I'm always nervous that he's up there. For reference, he wanted to trim the top of our approximately hundred foot tall tree himself. I absolutely refused to let him do that -- I don't need him a hundred feet in the air with a chainsaw. We hired someone. But for the projects that he insists on doing himself, I ordered these roof hooks to give me a tiny piece of mind while he's up there. Thankfully, he's also very good about wearing a harness when he does anything on the roof. Yes, I'm still nervous, but the roof hooks are heavy duty. They're very solid and thick and having handled them, I feel a little better.

The back of my house is 2 stories and I really hate getting close to the edge. With this added to my ladder I can anchor it over the top of the roof and feel safe with the ladder to keep me from falling. I want to put heat wire along the 2 story edge of my roof but have been hesitant until I got this. Easy to install and remove from my ladder as needed.

Some decades ago, when we were building out house, my husband fell while working on the roof. He was standing on a toe board that came loose. Now our roof is in need of repair in several areas and there's no way toe boards are going to be involved. These hooks extend over the ridge of the roof, you connect a ladder to the bottom of the hooks and are held in place by your own weight. A great design concept. The rollers help get things into position without a lot of damage to shingles that are okay. I'm so glad we will have these this time.

12/12 pitch, and I don't like getting up there. Even with toe-board brackets supporting a long ladder, my wife's shrieks as I climb caused more stress than the steepness. A roofing repair guy had something similar to this and made short work of fixing some loose shingles, and wifey didn't even blink. So now I have this to try.The bolts are rather long, so plan on cutting those after assembly.

These came in handy for a small roof repair on our lower roof. The real test will come after winter when we use it on a higher roof that is difficult to access. I don’t anticipate any issues. The weight limit is 500 lbs and that is what we needed for person weight and all tools. It came packaged perfectly and was super easy to use. It is a good quality.
