I used to use a needle nose plier to pull/extend springs, but it was very difficult as there was no firm grip grabbing to the spring. With a plier, user must maintain a firm grip and then pull, hoping the tip of the plier can hold on to the spring.I also attempted to use a light-weigh string/rope tied around the end of spring loop and pull. With a rope/string method, it was a challenge to remove the rope/string once the spring is reinstalled/replaced.This handy spring removal tool operates in a similar principle but better. Its hook can grab one end of the spring and allows user to pull in a natural way. I will love this tool next time I have to pull a strong spring.
