I bought this scanner about a month ago and have really put it to use -- in that time I've scanned nearly 400 slides. I don't color correct or anything on the unit itself; I transfer a few of them at a time onto my laptop and do all the manipulation in my Microsoft Picture It program. The scanner is great, fast and easy to use, once you figure out the simple steps.
