The first time I tried to use these crackers, the pistachio slipped and flew across the room, lol I was trying too hard, I suppose, and didn't have a good grip, but the ones after that worked quite good. I just had to angle them right and without using excessive force. These crackers are small, and the claws are not as thick, so make sure to have a good grip before applying more pressure. After the first one flew off, I have the hang of these now, and considering the price, which is cheaper than a hamburger these days :). They are not too bad once I know how to work with them.

These broke the first time I tried them, and it didn't crack the nut! To be fair, I was using them on a pistachio nut that didn't have a crack in it, but that is why I wanted to try these for those hard to crack pistachios. When I squeezed on the handles to crack the nut, it shot the nut out across the room. Complete failure!
