About this item

  • 【Product Parameters】C230 2 Pole 30 Amp 120/240V with a maximum rated voltage of 240V. Standard interrupting rating is 10 kA at 240 V. Two 3/4" spaces are required for normal tripping.

The protection function of a circuit breaker is to avoid circuit overload and short circuit, so it should be noted not to overload or short circuit in daily use. When the circuit breaker is overloaded, its rated current cannot be exceeded. If the rated current is exceeded, a suitable circuit breaker should be replaced. 4. I was very excited about the prospect of a deeply discounted Cuttler Hammer circuit breaker ($20 vs. $35 at Home Depot), however once I received it and installed it, I quickly realized where all that savings went. The screw terminals on this double pole breaker are very light duty, as well as being attached to the breaker internals using a very flimsy piece of metal. When you attempt to screw the terminal down on a wire, the wire is forced to one side of the opening, which twists the entire terminal, as well as the fastening screw, fatiguing the breaker internals (I will attach a picture soon, as it is quite frightening to see). This dramatic distortion of the screw terminals will most certainly result in failure of these parts if the terminals are unscrewed and screwed back down a handful of times. If you look at an OEM Cuttler Hammer breaker you will find that these same terminals are very heavy duty (as they are on most any breaker), and you will find that the EOM breaker's screw terminals cause a self-centering of the wire that produces a very confidence inspring connection. Again, this breaker from Amazon does NOT inspire confidence in any way. Notice that in the many pictures that are included in this listing, not one of them shows you the screw terminals. I do not believe this was accidentily omitted. While I currently have the breaker in-use (and it seems to work, for now), I will be replacing it with one from Home Depot in the near future.
