Easy installation and temperature operating range is spot on. It controls the fan perfectly and turns it off at 175° after 45 seconds runs to cool everything as it should.

I am a process control Technician and using 2 calibrated thermometers, found this product to close at 180 degrees and open at 165 degrees. Ran three test. Advertised as a 185/175 degree switch. If running electric fans with a thermostat of 165 degrees or more, the fans will come on and not turn off. Horrible quality control.

I replaced a failed switch with this one and it has been working perfectly for 2 months now.A couple of notes about Temperature Switches:DO NOT wire this directly to an electric fan. Use this switch to trigger a relay to power your fan. (The ground wire from the relay goes to this switch.)Accuracy is a relative term. This is a $13 switch so there will be variations. In 40 years, I have never seen 2 temperature gauges on the same vehicle read the same. Even when installed within inches of each other. (The closest was within 3*, others were up to 20* off.)(High performance engines)200* or even 215* is not necessarily overheating. A lot depends on your tune, timing, fuel, etc..., but if it's not boiling over, it may just be the norm for your vehicle.

The temperature sensor was stated as 170--185 degrees but it had 175--185 degrees marked on it!

Switch worked, it's 3/8 NPT thread. Tested on the stove, turned on at about 185, off around 175...maybe a little less. Seems accurate according to two oil thermometers on the stove and my Autometer gauge. Brass work is nice, nice machining, only time will tell if it's reliable.
