I'm not that impressed with this stuff. It's expensive, it helps, but not as much as I had hoped, it leaves a haze on some parts, and oh boy does it stink. Use only in a well-ventilated area. If you happen to get it on your hands, for instance while handling a part after you sprayed it, the scent won't wash off for hours. I recommend wearing gloves.I used it on some painted plastic motorcycle parts which were kind of a dark uniform grey. My RevoPoint Range was having a hard time picking it up due to the dark color and lack of distinct features. Used the spray, and while it did help somewhat, it still wasn't great results. I was kind of disappointed. On top of that, after it "evaporated", it left kind of a haze on the surface that doesn't come off easily. Be careful what you spray it on. Might want to test on something inconspicuous first.Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but I doubt I'll be buying this again.

This review is for the white AB6 version of the scanning spray. Revopoint also make other colors of AB6, and make a "permanent" spray (ABP) that can be wiped/rinsed off.The AB6 version of the spray is awesome, it sublimates directly from a solid on the surface to a gas. When I used it outside, it seems like the sun and heat accelerate the sublimation - it only lasted about 90 minutes. Indoors it seems to last a few hours 4-5.I feel like a few hours is perfect for most 3d scanning jobs, and if I needed to do a little spray touch-up in a spot, that's no big deal. This is an excellent spray that allows me to scan shiny surfaces and black surfaces with a lot higher quality result.

This was my first time using scanning spray. I could have used spray chalk, and I was going to, but then realized it would cost me as much time cleaning as this spray costs. This was in September in middle GA. I made sure the aluminum tower was cool and not in the sun anymore prior to spraying. I sprayed the boat tower evenly, heavily, and focused only on one side of it to start. I had time to get 2 scans before it started to really disappear, about 30-45 min.I was able to get the job done, and without a mess because of this spray. I just wish it it lasted longer and wasn't so darn expensive. This was about the best price around I could find for a sublimating spray, and still it a great expense for what it is.

Most scanners have issues with uniform surfaces and dark colors. This non-permanent spray allows for better scanning.

I have no negative notes. I do, however, have a response to the one review talking about inconsistent coverage: It's not the fault of the spray. Both the coverage and disappation rate rely on various factors like surface type, airflow, how porous or oily it is, and how thick you coat it (it doesn't need much). I've scanned hundreds of things with one can and with every single one, the residue went away on its own, while the time it took varied from 45 minutes to 24+ hours. Again, this greatly depends on the factors I listed above, and not really something the spray has control over. All of the above is true for Aesub spray.
