Moen faucet is popular and reliable in general, but due to water quality, the mineral deposits often cause issues with the cartridges. They leak or seize. Because Moen often provides lifetime warranty, if you are the homeowner, especially the original homeowner when the faucet is installed, you can always call the company to get these parts for free. Otherwise, these replacement parts are very affordable to make the faucet valves operate like new. In my experience, most of the replacement cartridges perform as good as the OEM ones.

I just replaced an old Moen 1225 cartridge with one of these and it works great. It operates very smoothly, a vast improvement over the old one, and no leaks.

These work just like the moen branded cartridges but are 1/4 the cost.If they don't last as long that's just fine, it's better to replace them sooner because if they are left in too long they can become extremely hard to remove.
