I used the mallets with my grandchildren aged 2 and 4. I put toys in a bowl, added water, and then froze them. We took the frozen toys in ice and used the mallets to break the ice to get to the plastic animals Then the kids went around the driveway and hit small rocks with it. The mallets worked perfectly for what we did.

If you have kids and are looking for an awesome activity, use these mallets to hammer golf tees into either pumpkins or watermelons. Great way for kids to practice hand-eye coordination and get out any frustration. At Halloween they make awesome pumpkin carvings (remember light brite? Like that without the pegs.)
