The truss rod is nearly impossible to move. It creaks miserably when turned in either direction and you'll strip an Allen wrench or two doing it. The paint is poorly applied and there are thin spots on the headstock. The tuner holes are not centered and are big enough to crawl through - get ready to do some wood working. I had to fill them with dowel wood and repaint, then re-drill at least 1/4" over. If I didn't, the heavy strings would all pull the nut toward your face, which wouldn't hold for long. Had to buy string trees. And the base of the neck is NOT Fender precision width. It's too wide. So you have to re-rout the body's neck pocket, as you wouldn't want to shave down the painted neck. Once installed, it's a bear to set up, but the tone is decent. The fingerboard feels good and has a punchy and resonant tonal quality. Honestly, this piece is way too much work just to save a few bucks.

The only problem is the cheap plastic nut, but you can replace that for a few bucks and wood glue. I also didn't like the nitro coating. It was good quality, I just don't like it. I actually built a 5 string bass with this and it withstood the extra strain from that big B string. I will buy again for future builds.
