I suppose you could use this for the tenant in you're garden shed or RV who is behind in his rent, to deprive the rental unit of power until caught up. But I don't think you're allowed to do that, so I'm not sure why you would need a keyed power switch, except to prevent unauthorized switching. I'm going to use it on the front of a PC case, since I always wanted a PC that runs on with a key. It would also make an important looking control panel for launching model rockets, but you really want 2 for this, with different keys. Then you and your friend have to turn BOTH keys to launch the rocket. The key looks pretty important, but not quite the level I've seen in movies. I realize I'm going to have to add something to this for the momentary I need for a computer. In reality I would expect this to be used to energize outdoor outlets at a business, which you would want to be disabled when closed. I checked it with a meter and the expected connections are made when either key is used.

Quality is below average. Its hard to imagine trusting this product, since it doesn't have a set of quality instructions and feels very cheap.I planned on using this in my RV as a transfer switch for a generator input (front of RV) and the pedestal input (rear of RV) but I just can't bring myself to believe this is safe. The switch feels cheaply made. Everything is cheap plastic. The screws holding the front plate on are even plastic. CE doesn't mean a whole lot to me... Really wish it was UL or NEC compliant. For something that's rated at 40amps and 660V, a 10 gauge wire max is going to be your main limiting factor for voltage and amps. I can't bring myself to trust this with 30 amps at 120V, so there's just no way I'll be using this switch with anyone's life.
