I believe it’s perfect for certain people. It just was not perfect for me. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted.

This is a big help soldering small parts. The image is clear and the lights do a great job for various applications requiring lighting from different angles for highlighting different features. It was simple to assemble and figure out all the settings. I don’t know how they determined the magnification though. The zoom is a function of the distance from the lense. At full extension the linear size of a 1” block is 2.5”. Against the lense shroud a 1mm block is 120mm on the screen. Overall I am very happy with this on my bench.

Very good product. It actually performs as a manufacture states.

This is a good microscope for specific purposes. This is not the kind of microscope you use for looking at specimen slides (seeing through something). It is a really good microscope for inspecting things. The assembly manual is not good. There is no way to really sugar coat that. Typical of most electronic devices today, especially those made overseas, the manual is practically useless. To top that off, there are no videos provided with the product that I could see that describes the assembly. It turns out there are multiple ways it can be assembled depending on your needs. There is a long extension tube you will probably use if you are using this to look at things with mild magnification. If you need to look at things with a lot of magnification, you will probably not use the silver extension tube and instead mount the head of the microscope directly to the base adjustment post. This scope has good lighting options with two side lights and a ring light around the camera head. These seem to be sufficient for seeing objects. The adjustment for the ring light is not so obvious and can be found under the right edge of the screen. The adjustment for the lights on the arms can be found on the back edge of the platform. This comes with all the cables and power supplies needed to use the microscope. To focus the scope, turn the knurled body just above the camera head. Its a little slow to focus compared to a lab microscope but it works reasonably well.It comes with a battery built in... so you could take this in the field and use it stand alone. The screen is very clear and you can connect the scope to a larger screen via the HDMI port. Great for showing a larger audience whats under the scope. It includes the ability to take photos and video. Both work well.Things that do not rate well with this scope:- The remote control is DOA. That might not be important but for me it does negatively impact my opinion. When you are zoomed way in on something, it is virtually impossible to press the button to take photos without causing enough movement in the microscope that the image gets blurry. This is not so much of an issue at the less zoomed in levels for very noticeable at the higher zoom levels. The remote feels kind of cheap as well.- There is a little lens shroud that comes with the microscope to help deflect light at higher zoom levels. it is not described in the manual. It has little tabs that are incredibly fragile and on the very first attempt to install it, one of the tabs broke off making it useless. Its also worth noting that when this is connected to a PC, not all of the functions are available. When I first was using it, I plugged it in to the pc. I could not take photos or video (and the menu didnt work). I could easily transfer photos. Once I powered it with something other than the PC, it worked as expected.Even though there are definitely things that could be improved, this is a very nice microscope. I wish I had this years ago when I had to troubleshoot manufacturing issues with SMT power controller boards.I attached a few images of the different levels of zoom as well as the part with the broken tab. You can see examples of coins at different zoom levels as well as a circuit board I was examining.

The microscope was easy to assemble. It turned on right after assembly, but needed to be charged, of course, which took about an hour to reach full charge. The magnification range is larger than I expected, being able to see most of a nickel coin when far away, as well as zooming into the mint mark filling nearly the entire screen when close in. Also included is an extension tube, which allowed for zooming out even farther. It works well inspecting the quality of electronic boards, showing the detail the soldering of very small pitch IC chips. It works well for inspecting jewelry as well. The two extra lights on the base are very useful, especially at high magnifications for more light, or eliminating shadows. Included in the box is an extra cable that allows you to power the lights (which are in the base) from the main display unit. It’s handy to be able to use the whole unit, extra lights and all, using the internal battery. It came with a 64GB SD card already installed and ready to go. Sending pictures or video to the SD card is a one button operation: simple. Also included is a small remote, which is handy as pushing the button can cause some movement at close magnification, blurring the picture. Using the remote eliminates this problem. It came with an HDMI cable, which can be connected to a monitor for viewing an even larger picture if needed. The USB connection is used for charging, or for plugging into a computer. When plugging into a computer, it can act as a camera to the computer, which I find helpful, when you don’t want to be retrieving everything from the SD card. Additionally, the USB connection can be used to access the SD card, and retrieve its contents, eliminating the need for an additional SD card reader. The stand and frame are fairly sturdy, and manufacturing quality is above average. When using high magnification, however, the frame will move slightly under very light touch (such as when pushing the buttons) and possibly blur the picture taken.Overall this microscope is very complete. Two features stand out for me: 1) The entire unit can be operated (including the extra lights) from its internal battery. 2) It can be connected to a computer for directly capturing images or for retrieving images from the SD card.

After 8 months the on/off button stopped working. Does not appear to be any support. Very disappointing.

Stay away from this product. The instructions and pictures to assemble, use are impossible to read and understand. The product is such a bad quality, it is worth nothing. After so much struggle and number of calls to Amazon, I could not get the product to function. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!
