Product Description

50 Crocheted Afghan Borders from Leisure Arts presents an assortment of designs that are fun to work and will turn the plainest afghan into something very special. Some of the borders are wide and ruffled; some are narrow and tailored. Others are very feminine; some are more masculine. All can be added to just about any afghan, whether it's knitted or crocheted, to provide the finishing touch. Have you ever completed an afghan and thought there was just something missing? It was really pretty, but it seemed to need something else and it wasn't fringe! What that afghan probably needed was a border. This collection by Jean Leinhauser is a great resource that you will use again and again.

Excellent patterns to crochet borders around blankets. I purchased this book for my daughter who has begun to crochet. Easy to follow instructions with patterns from basic to advanced. “Heads up” this supplier defines a huge hole in the back of the manual as “used-good”. Won’t be giving this as a gift as planned. 🙄

I ordered this book used. It was cheaper than new and just as good as new. Love saving money.

This border book is so amazing. The directions are written out very well for every 50 borders. I'm very happy with my purchase, I only regret not buying it sooner. Well worth the $8.95 I purchased it for.

So many borders, so little time to make them all; lol. Have you finished an afghan only to think it doesn't look finished? It's either too short, too narrow, or just too blah. Well, this along with the second book "50 More Crocheted Afghan Borders" will make that afghan into a piece of art. Or at least it'll look better. :-)There are 30 straight borders of different widths if you want to add length or width to your project. There are also 20 corner borders to completely border the entire project; that's the kind I use most often. The borders may be in one or multiple colors. Each border pattern lets you know at the beginning how many stitches that pattern uses (for instance, a multiple of 2 + 1 sts) and has clear instructions. There is a stitch guide at the beginning of patterns that have an uncommon stitch (front post, cluster, etc.). There are also colorful pictures of each border that show the detail. You might want to experiment with the borders to see which one looks best for your current project. The second book does not include any corner borders; so I were to buy only one booklet (it's very thin) this would be it.If you found my review helpful to you, please let me know by clicking yes below; thanks!

The borders on a crochet project are like the jewelry with an outfit. Just the right one can really elevate the whole project. These borders range from delicate to striking. And while the book is aimed at afghans, I am certainly going to be using these borders on various garments, headbands, bags, etc. For instance, you could really doll up a pillow, hat or bookmark by adding one of these trims. This is book I know I will go back to again and again.

Sometimes when crocheting an afghan, the pattern is great, but no so much the edging. This is a very nice book on crocheted edges for those who like to get creative when finishing an afghan -- lots of alternative ideas. Book came in great condition, well packaged to prevent damage during shipping and within the time promised for delivery. Would definitely recommend seller & this book to anyone wanting a little more from the finished product. (I purchased this book with it's companion book "50 More Crocheted Afghan Borders, Leisure Arts #4351" and another book "Around the Corner Crochet Borders", which I also highly recommend to serious crochet lovers.
