Installation Notes:

Before installing the camshaft

  • The camshaft fittings need to be carefully inspected. This includes camshaft bearings, camshaft cover, etc. Ensure that the fittings are intact and replace them as necessary.
  • The camshaft installation orientation must be confirmed. Correct installation orientation ensures proper camshaft swing angle and fit between cam valves.
  • Oil and impurities must be removed from the engine. The camshaft itself must also be cleaned to ensure that its surface is smooth and free of scratches.
  • Apply a special lubricant or oil to the camshaft surface.

When installing the camshaft

  • It is necessary to make sure that the camshaft is positioned accurately. During installation, special attention needs to be paid to the fit between the camshaft and the crankshaft to ensure synchronization between the two.

After installing the camshaft

  • The clearance of the camshaft needs to be adjusted. The adjustment of the clearance can be realized by adjusting the bolts of the camshaft cover.
  • It is necessary to manually rotate the camshaft to check if it rotates smoothly.
1

Common symptoms in bad Camshaft include abnormal wear, abnormal noise or fracture etc.

  • The car has weak acceleration and cannot run, but it is better to exceed 2500 rpm
  • The increase in fuel consumption of cars
  • After the engine fault light detects a sensor malfunction, it will light up the fault indicator light
  • Unstable idling and severe shaking of the car, similar to a cylinder shortage fault;
  • During the start-up process, there may be a phenomenon of crankshaft reversal and tempering in the intake manifold.

1

The camshaft is an important component in piston engines, which controls the opening and closing of valves to achieve control over the engine.

  • Optimized Performance

The Rocker Arm & Hydraulic Tappet that is intact and free from wear contributes to excellent horsepower and acceleration, preventing valve train noise and unnecessary valve train component wear.

  • Steps for installing the camshaft:

  1. Place the camshaft into the engine and ensure proper alignment. Ensure that the position and direction of the camshaft match the requirements of the engine to avoid installation errors.
  2. Install the camshaft bracket and fixing bolts, but do not tighten them temporarily.
  3. Make necessary adjustments and calibrations. This may include adjusting the valve clearance of the camshaft, correcting the timing of the camshaft, etc. Ensure that adjustments are made according to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure the normal operation of the camshaft.
  4. Once the installation position of the camshaft is confirmed to be correct, tighten the fixing bolts according to the specified torque and sequence.
  5. Install the camshaft cover and other related components, such as the intake manifold, sensors, and electrical connections.
  6. Check and ensure that all disassembled components are properly connected and installed.
  7. Reconnect the negative terminal of the car battery.
