It is very poorly designed. The rivets are not reliably connected. It's a good thing that it slipped off while it was being installed and not afterwards after the springs were loaded. Returning this.

My 32 year-old attic door was drooping and the old springs needed help to pull the door up tight again. So, I added these springs and kept the old ones on as well, and it did the trick. The pull down door is snug against the ceiling once again. Yeah!

We are adding an attic ladder to our garage and we thought these hinges would be a good fit. Unfortunately, they are really lightweight and pretty flimsy. We didn't even try to use them, as they are just not a high enough quality. Where the metal pieces join and pivot, they are really weak and won't hold up to any torque or pull. For a ladder that will be used pretty frequently, I need something much more robust and secure.

My attic door was starting to droop. The original springs had gotten rusty and one of them seemed strretched. I added these springs and it did the trick! Now, the door fits snugly against the ceiling again. My old ones were worn out, and these made it close like new. Installation was easy, and they work perfectly. A must-have for anyone with an aging attic door ladder.
