We live on a forested mountain. We are invaders into nature. All the critters and bugs of nature are here, right now, with us. One of those bugs in particular is a big bad problem. It's those half pint sized bees - I don't know if they are wasps or hornets, but they have the worst stings I've ever had, and they are AGGRESSIVE! Disturb them and boy, do they go after you! Worst of all, they are increasing in numbers! I finally had to admit my chemical agents against them were ineffective. Sure the bee spray killed them, some of them, but they always returned in full force. I had to do something. So I looked for beekeeping supplies on Amazon, and I found two things: these beekeeping gloves, and these beekeeping hats with netting that goes over your head and sits on your shoulders. One of the problems with chemical bee killers is that they immediately come after you. How do they know? Beats me, but the do know it is you who is their enemy! I'm VERY happy to say that the gloves and these hats made me (so far) impervious to the little miseries on wings, and I'm winning the battle against them! Try as they might they couldn't sting me through the netting on the hats. Mind you, I wore bluejeans and a coat with these gloves and the hats, and the combination WORKED!!! I can't say enough good things about these beekeeping hats. They are SUPER! They have a chin strap, and it is a GOOD ideal to use the chin straps! You put the hat on, then pull the netting around your head and down onto your shoulders. Take pains to insure no netting touches your skin because they will be able to sting you if you're careless! I've had bees hung in the netting by their stingers. That's unnerving, but they can't get to you. Just make sure you have some bee spray to kill the ones caught in the netting!

I bought these not for bee keeping, but for berry picking. The mosquitos where I live are fierce and I don't like using mosquito repellant on my face. These work beautifully to keep those pesky tiny demons from biting my face or buzzing right in my ear.I wore one when mowing the lawn, as well, and it provided food shade as well as keeping mosquitos at bay.

Definitely good design. Bugs were out from my face. But, but but, am I allergic to plastic? I have rash on my neck (which was in contact with the neck ring.). So, I wrap a cotton towel around my neck and then use this net.You know what, it is pretty reasonably priced. I happily use it.
