I took some lei making classes in Hawaii and found that this kit is very similar to what they used in the classes over there. It's pretty straightforward and easy to use and could work with both real flowers and fake flowers. This lei making kit comes with plenty of string so if you make a mistake you can easily get more string to redo something. There are two needles - one longer than the other so you can choose the one that you feel more comfortable using.

While in Hawaii last year, I took a lei making class and really enjoyed it. I haven't had many opportunities to use this skill since returning home, but we decided to have a luau themed birthday party. I'm making my own lei and have practiced beforehand to make sure I can remember how. This kit is just like the one I used in Hawaii so it is easy to use and works well. There is a lot of twine so I'm going to have to come up with more excuses to make them!
