The coolant reservoir is attached to the radiator and the engine with hoses and is a vital component of the cooling system. The pressurized coolant overflow expansion tank contains coolant fluid that is discharged from the cooling system attached to the engine. Pressure builds up and releases when the coolant is hot and expands through the radiator when the engine cools down. The excess fluid flows back into the radiator from the coolant tank of your vehicle. If you are experiencing leaks, low levels of coolant or an overheating engine then you may have a problem with your coolant reservoir tank. The radiator coolant overflow expansion tank can easily be located on the engine bay mounted on the engine near and connected to the radiator.

How to Replace the Coolant Reservoir Tank
1. Turn off your car and allow your engine to cool down completely before doing the replacement
2. Remove the bolts and the reservoir, but do not remove the coolant hose first
3. Wrap a cloth around the hose before disconnecting it and allow the remaining coolant flowing back into the drain pan
4. Take out the damaged reservoir and drain the coolant off. Make sure to pour the fluid into a secure container and properly dispose it, as it is toxic
5. Reinstall the coolant hose to the radiator and tighten the clamp
6. Connect the other end of the coolant hose to the new coolant reservoir and tighten the mounting bolts
7. Refill the tank with new coolant and run the engine to check if function well
