The set has various sizes of rose pins making it easy to select the one you're most comfortable with to make the right size rose. The pins are grooved to help spin them with a good grip. I didn't use the plastic scissor devices. They tend to distort the rose. My technique after making tens of thousands of flowers is to put a dab of icing on the pin then pressing a 2 inchsquare piece of wax paper on it. Make your flower on the wax paper. Put them on a tray and freeze them. They become hard and easy to place on you cake. They also stay a long time for later use. I used to make 100 at a time so my crew could place them when they needed them.
