I will fully admit that I got this at first for the potato ricer, which works great! Make sure to cut you potatoes so they fit into it and make sure they are cooked full otherwise you will hate it. I have not tried the gnocchi roller yet but I will play around with that come day. I would recommend washing the board with warm water and drying it right away so you can add a little oil to it. The oil helps to seal it and keeps the wood healthy. Overall the kit is great and I'm looking forward to trying out everything.

The set seems very nice and I was excited about it. Unfortunately, the gnocchi board came with some issues that make me wary of using it. As shown in the photos, there were some odd spots on the board. There is a large opening along one of the grooves and a spot where the wood is very rough. The part that is smooth works well, but I will probably get rid of it since I am concerned that these spots will allow water or dough to get in there and cause problems.The other pieces arrived in good condition. There are molds or little presses for your gnocchi or other pasta creations. The potato ricer is larger than I anticipated but I suppose it makes sense since potatoes need to fit in there.On my first attempt at using it, I boiled the potatoes for the regular amount of time I would use and the ricer was not up to the task and was bending. The next time, I made sure to boil the potatoes longer and make sure they were very soft and it worked great.A neat thing about this is that you don't have to peel the potatoes first. You can just cut them in half, boil them, and then put the cut end facing down and squeeze the ricer and only the potato part will come out - not the peel. A nice time saver! (I just eat the peels separately)Overall a nice set but I think the board could possibly use some better quality control.
