The tensioner portion itself that’s threaded, was reverse thread and wrong size from the bolt it came with. Also wrong threads from the OEM bolt. Also the nuts included do not thread onto bolt to lock it down. None of the parts were usable

I ordered this because the alternative was much more expensive from the dealer. The adjuster is made of metal which is much better than OEM, only reason this set isn't a 1 star. When I got this, the install should have taken no more than 15 minutes, maybe up to 25-30 minutes at worst. But what I found was that the adjuster provided has either threads that aren't the same pitch/count or need to be cleaned out. The bolt started threading by hand as is a good check to confirm the threads match, however, after a few turns it got tight. The thought was that maybe there was bur in the threads causing a block or friction. But when I tried to tighten past that point just a 1/4 turn, it got much harder. I backed out the bolt and found that a thread was stripped. I didn't have a thread repair kit or a tap & die set for that size and left hand thread, so I was forced to use the bolt as a poor mans rethreader to chase the threads. Doing this I found that the threads didn't match, bolt to adjuster. It's on my car now, and works as intended, but only after forcing the bolt through the adjuster and rethreading it that way. All this to say, use a thread repair kit of the right size and left hand thread type to chase the threads so you know the bolts will thread without issue.

Broke my original idler pulley adjuster when I changed my timing belt on my 2004 Subaru Outback, I was extremely happy to find this replacement. I didn't have too many expectations, but was pleasantly surprised when this worked as it should.
