This hammer is very nice for what it is, a small device to tap things into place. I wouldn't recommend that you swing it like a hammer. The problem I had was that the head and the handle came apart the second time I used it. I was able to reconnect it in a way that I don't believe it will come apart again but this shouldn't have happened on a small hammer that never really sees a hard impact.

It is definitely a light duty tack hammer for very small jobs or very light jewelry repairs.
