This is better than I expected it to be. I got the one with the ducks on it. The artwork is amazing. This would look good in a cabin, man cave or den. It has a fair amount of room inside for holding things like books, CDs, cigars, playing cards, snacks and tv remotes. I liked it so much that I ordered another one with different artwork.

Let me first say that I almost never write reviews. The only times I do is when the product sucks or when I'm so impressed that I am compelled to do so. This item falls in the latter. The description of this equipment box is spot on. Meaning the dimensions are accurate, the materials are quality, and only made in America would take the time, effort and pride in the dovetail joints to fabricate this box.I choose the a Ducks because I like water. I'm not a hunter. And hold onto your hula-hoops, I bought this as a box ro hide my WiFi router and power supply, wall warts, etc.Yes, I will have to drill the necessary holes for cables/ventilation. But I'm a DIY, which is why I recognize quality craftsmanship when I see it, and that's not a big deal. When I looked at the bamboo or plastic "cable boxes" meant for he same purpose, I just couldn't see paying $40+ for some small bamboo box that'd only accommodate a modest surge protector. Which was NOT made in the USA (can you spell China?)I wanted a box that would hide.my router, a somewhat large surge protector and all the plugged-in power supplies.Given I have a drill and a couple of different sized hole saws, this was a no brainier.OK, NOW TO THE SPORTSMEN...it's a great supply box. Well constructed and attention to detail for sturdiness. I've actually never seen the hinges they use. The mounting screws in the hinges are offset to minimize the stress on the wood and leveraging the woods strength. Also the top is reinforced with wood struts to negate any warpage. But, look carefully and you'll see those struts cover the edge of the hinges giving additional strength to the top fastening, the part that will inevitably receive the greatest use/stress over time. The front picture -- the ducks in my case -- are exactly as shown in the webpage. Delightfully so. I wasn't sure if they'd be blurred or whatever, but nope, they're great.Definitely quality 3/4 inch pine, and as I said the dovetail joints on all the sides is wonderful and such a lost art in craftsmanship these days. The ONLY criticism I might have, and it's really about where you might use this box, the finish is thin. Not a big deal if this is going in the pickup, or hunting deer etc. BUT if you're a fisherman, or fowl hunter, where water exposure is likely, you'll want to put an extra cost of some kind, like poly, on the wood to keep it looking good.Me, inuse a product called "Wipe on Poly", the satin version. And yes, you literally use a cotton rag and wipe in a coat. Maybe two, again depending on how much water/moisture contact the box might have. The Evans Sports company does a first rate job on this. There located Missouri, which for me is great as I live in Chicago. But, you can't get much more Amerixan than the Breadbasket Midwest of USA!Great job Evans! I think I'm going to buy another to keep a few of my power tool in.Oh, yeah, the handles are inset into the side panel, but don't go through the wood entirely thereby keeping the integrity of the box's interior. I have somewhat large hands and found them very adequate.

Evans Sports Accessory Case: So I’m not a sportsman but I really liked these pine boxes. They are well-crafted and sturdy, true to the exterior dimensions stated (interior dimensions are about 14.5” x 7” x 8.5”) and the images are nice. Not sure I would load them up with much weight and haul them around in the back of a truck but they are most definitely a great solution for storing lots of stuff you use often but don’t want to have cluttering up a living room or bedroom. We’re using these for storing bags of pet treats; one for our cats and one for the neighborhood dogs who drop by during walks. Honestly, our cats weren’t thrilled with the image on their box so I removed the grouse image and applied a couple of Simon’s Cat decals after sanding and then coating the whole thing with polyurethane varnish. Worked great and the cats really like it!

This is the same box you see on the shelves at Wallyworld around Christmas time except they did away with the rope handles. The rope handles always got in the way. This box does exactly what it's supposed to do - hold your stuff. I gave it 4 stars because some of the pine wood has big cracks in it around the knots, weakening the wood, but it's good for what I want it for.I put a brass hasp on the lid so I can lock it and I put brass handles on the sides. I cut a slot in the top and coated it with 3 coats of gloss varnish and turned it into a "suggestion box" that also holds "door prizes". Everyone likes the way the box looks! This would be a great box for kids to keep their hunting stuff in.OhioMo123

I purchased this box mainly for display rather than use. The natural wood has plenty of beauty on its own, but the painted artwork is superb which makes this box an excellent decorative piece. If you're purchasing so you can store a bunch of heavy ammunition, then there are other choices on the market that are better suited for your needs. If you are purchasing for the rustic, outdoors, cabin-like motif nature of this accessory, then this is exactly what you're looking for. It is still sturdy enough to handle a fair share of weight for storage purposes, but I wouldn't place twenty boxes of shells and only grab the engraved side handles for support.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and he loved it! Not only is the box great for storing ammo but also many outdoor accessories. The box is of good size, made of real wood (not plastic or metal) and the artwork is well done. It is very realistic and detailed. Would recommend as a gift for any outdoors men as it is practical yet still looks good.

I'm going to make this review very simple. It's built with care and quality. It is not huge, the artwork looks fantastic and I am very happy with this purchase. I am using it to store my cleaning materials and I fit everything I need to clean all my firearms. I wish there was a way to lock the box, though I might just pick up some hardware and do this myself.Quality buy, price is just right.
