Simple to replace faulty switch. Take out about 6 screws, unplug and unsnap the switch from the housing. Reverse the process with new switch and voila! New switch installed! Whole process takes one screwdriver and less than 20 minutes of your time. Switch was $20 on Amazon - this is a $100 job at a mechanic, $150 at a dealer. Save yourself some serious cash and replace the switch yourself!
