This has been one of my favorite trout spoons since the late 50s. It tends to run shallow so it is perfect for casting for trout in the shallower, faster rivers for trout. I grew up in the Catskill mountains. The Beaverkill was my backyard. This was one of 3 or 4 lures that I always had with me for trout fishing. I believe I used the 1/5 and 1/3 oz. sizes. I have also used it with great success on largemouth bass, pickerel and panfish. I used primarily the nickel color, but the gold worked fine as well.
