I have a couple of those old mercury vapor dusk to dawn lights on my barn, which I've updated by bypassing the ballast and installing LED corn cob style bulbs. One of them would remain on for most of the day so I figured the light sensor was most likely going bad. I ordered this to replace it and the hardest part of the whole process was setting up my ladder. A slight turn to the left then lift and the old one popped right off, then I plugged this one into its place and a slight turn to the right locked it in place. I was a bit worried at first because the diameter of the base on this was larger than the original but that turned out to be a non-issue. It has been working perfectly - the light comes on at night when it is supposed to and off during the day when it isn't. My only complaint would be the color of the sensor - the blue color kind of stands out and draws unnecessary attention to the light - the one it replaced was a grey color. Not a deal breaker though, its on top of the light which is mounted fairly high so that helps to hide it. It doesn't bother me enough to really do anything about it but if it ever does, I'll just cover the sensor window with some painter's tape and hit it with a couple of coats of spray paint.

I have a security where the sensor stopped working years ago and kept the light on 24/7. I finally got around to getting a sensor to replace it. Disconnected the existing sensor and replaced it with this sensor. It brought life back to the light. It turns on at dusk and off at dawn. My property is once again lit up at night. Instructions were excellent on how to wire to the light. Installation took no time to complete.

These twist lock photocells work well on our commercial LED parking lot lights. Easy install and we haven't had one go bad yet. Hopefully they last for years, although they are very easy to replace if they do.

This switch installs perfectly, seals nicely, and works perfectly for dusk to Dawn service. Great switch at a great price!
