These are great for connecting the horizontal fence poles to wooden fence posts. There are no included screws. Each bracket is drilled for 6 screws so the fence should be very strong.Grey galvanized metal brackets with bolts to secure the fence post.

I bought on of those coiled spring type automatic gate closers that's intended for use on wood but I intended to use it on a chain link fence gate instead. I was scratching my head trying to figure out a way to anchor that powerful spring in a way to chain link posts that was going to last in the long run. If I anchored the spring by drilling holes in the posts I don't believe that would last very long before the metal pulled out or rusted through so I was trying to figure a way to mount a piece of wood to the galvanized posts that wouldn't end up trapping moisture against the post and rusting it out in the long run.That's when I just happened to stumble on these. I had no idea such a thing existed but it's just like they read my mind. These are all galvanized and will clamp right on to the existing posts and hold a piece of treated lumber out away from the post so it doesn't rust out. I can mount a piece of wood to the flange and screw my gate closer right in just like it was a wooden fence all along - outstanding!I guess there must be a lot of situations where one might need to make the transition from chain link fence posts to wood so these are the ticket. Package contains four units so plenty to work with. It's a niche product but if you have the need, recommended.

I was going to try to rig up some washers or spacers and drill a through hole which I knew would rust in the rain. This solved the problem when similar item at Big Box Home store had nothing in stock. Amazon saved the day again.
