I purchased this machine through Amazon in 2012. Almost 6 six years and still going strong. It's not in constant or heavy use, but does exactly what I need.

It work good, but I should have gone for Akiles Coilmac Plus Manual Oval Hole Coil Binding Machine.

This machine arrived in perfect condition and quickly. It appears to be well built and I am looking forward to putting it to work on a large project. Comment: I suppose spiral binding is simple, although having not done it before, I would have appreciated some instructions.

I make editioned, hand printed letter size books of my photography for museums and select university art galleries in the US and worldwide. (You can do a search for my name to see samples of what is being produced in the editioned books.) My production needs are not big. The books I produce are about 80 paper pages in length. The 'action' of the machine is just a joy to use when punching single sheets of heavy weight stock. This binder can punch 2 or 3 sheets of 230gm RC photo paper at once. But it moans and groans, so for the cleanest punches and less noise...I do them one sheet at a time. I've used it on heavier weight cotton rag and cellulose fine art photo papers with beautiful results. The holes come out clean and as perfect as one could hope for.It will not punch a stack of photo paper. If you need to punch large blocks of paper at once, get a different binder. I also punch 10.6 mil plastic covers - again one at time. Does them perfectly. It can do 2 or 3 plastic covers at once, but moans and groans and is hard to operate. It is very easy to insert coils into holes. If you bind books that are 1 inch thick and composed of heavy weight paper over 220gm, the oval hole binder does a better job when it comes to easy coil insertion. Also check out the 'Wire-O' system for thick books. The unit comes with a pin registration attachment, but it is not needed for thinner books. Comes with a useful gauge for determining coil size for binding. Or you can use a ruler to gauge your coil needs.Highly recommended binder for low production work. Beautiful, high quality build...just a superb machine if used within its limits.Thank you Akiles for making such a gem!

This is an excellent solution for small businesses that use binders. It's a quality machine, simple to use, and works very well time and again.

This thing is a rock. It gets the job done, and it feels like it'll last for years. A bit pricey up front, but I believe it'll pay off.

Excellent QUALITY like a piece of art work, very solid, very well made and designed. The product was very well packed and made in Taiwan. I wish I could rate this product higher but I was only allowed to select 5 stars. We should promote good quality product and help those who need to buy a good quality product. As the reviews from others are the key to help me choose the product that I would like to purchase. Thanks for the comments other made.

I've only had this product for about a month, but I'm already close to recovering the cost through my savings on binding. The difference in quality compared to more affordable machines was obvious even before I actually used started punching holes. It's sturdy, well-made, and even looks pretty good (it isn't even that big). I'm glad I finally made the decision to make this investment. I haven't had any problems/reservations. I use it mainly for musical scores, and they always look great. You'll have to buy the coils separately. I just use regular pliers/cutters I already had to trim the coils, and that works fine.
