Al's Forty Niner, 5/16 oz - 2-1/4" Long - #6 Treble Hook
Al's Forty Niner is a unique spoon effective for targeting walleye, trout, salmon, northern pike and other larger freshwater fish species. Jig it, troll it or cast it, you will not be disappointed. When retrieved or trolled, the lure swims on its back, and has a tight barrel-roll wobble. This action generates a lot of attracting flash, making it a very effective trolling lure. When vertically jigged, both in open water and through ice, it has a lot of flash as it flutters on the drop, and it also makes a bit of a racket, both good attention-drawing features. On the jig up, it randomly darts in whatever direction that bent nose is pointed, giving it the appeal of struggling prey.
It's stamped from brass (no rusting!) and rigged with top quality hooks and rings. Used one of these for the first time a few days ago at a trout lake and it produced well. Then this afternoon I tried it at a bass and panfish pond and the bass were taking it eagerly, including a 19" hog! A great spoon with superior action, lighter than a Kastmaster for more reliable use in shallow snaggy water. Wish it was less expensive, though.

I did not catch a single fish and so I tested my other equipment to see if it was the lake that didn't have any fish. I caught 7 bass and a trout so Itried this lure all day after that. Nothing. I noticed it didn't even spin and was backwards. Not great👎

This is my go to lure, bass, trout, crappie. I absolutely love the Helgy. They come in multiple colors and I have and use all of them. I also use with gray success the larger saltwater series lures. Customer service is outstanding.

Its very small... can buy simklar in dollar store for $1... And fish seems to avoid the lure in clear water
