For years I was using an old hand-me down turkey roaster for Thanksgiving. It didn’t even have proper handles for safety! I decided to get a new roaster and quality was very important. I bought some lower priced pans, wasn’t happy, returned them, and was ready to order from WS or SLT. I gave this pan a shot and it’s been amazing! Not only did we cook our Thanksgiving turkey in it, but I use it often on Sundays when I roast a chicken. Spatchcocked birds fit.

I needed to purchase a new roaster since the one I was gifted years ago the non stick material is flaking off and I did not want to continue using aluminum foil. I love that the rack keeps the turkey, roast , or whatever large piece of meat you are cooking off the bottom and the handles allow for easy removal from pan. My husband was skeptical but now that we have used it a few times he is convinced that it is a good quality pan and likes the way the rack sits in the pan. He was concerned that for a 20 lb turkey it would not fit but that was not an issue with this pan.I highly recommend purchasing. It is made of stainless steel and the rack lifting the food off the bottom acts as a convection to allow the heat all around. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would purchase again should the need arise but I see this lasting and being given to my son in years to come.

This roasting pan is very sturdy and solidy made. I roasted a chicken in it, and it cooked evenly. The rack is easy to remove and easy to clean. The pan itself is easy to clean as well, after soaking it for a bit in dish soap and water. Nothing stuck to it. However, there were some spots in the finish after I finished cleaning the pan. Maybe I soaked it a bit too long? Anyway, that's not a big deal to me and I'm pleased with the purchase.

When my fiancee and I decided to buy a 15 pound brisket, butcher it ourselves and make two different briskets for fun, I did a lot of research looking for the right pan. I needed something BIG - but I also needed something that would heat evenly on the stovetop to brown the meat, prepare the veggies and sauces, etc then be able to transfer to the oven for long hours of slow cooking. I also needed it quickly, and wanted something I trusted to clean easily - we knew we'd be making a mess. This pan was the answer to our prayers - solidly built, large sized and deep enough to hold lots of liquid, heated evenly and well on our gas stove across two burners, and cleaned up like a dream - even with slow cooked high sugar sauce in it.

You could tell from the first touch that this is a very sturdy and professional grade roaster that should serve for many, many years. It is a large roaster that should handle any sized turkey or pork belly that I choose to prepare in it. My wife would say it is too heavy but I know the weight means better heat distribution and better results. This roaster can be used on top of the stove to prep meats and associated fare prior to putting in the oven. Sturdy handles make it easier to place and remove from the oven. It comes with a sturdy rack as well and I would recommend to anyone who wants a very nice roaster.

High-quality solid pan. For health reasons, I don't like to cook in anything aluminum or in anything with "non-stick" coatings. However, I was still using those dollar store roasting pans every year until I got fed up when the aluminum disposable roasting pan I used for the Thanksgiving turkey wouldn't hold its shape and allowed copious amounts of turkey basting juice to spill into the oven, creating major smoke and setting off the smoke alarm. I shopped around and it's not that easy to find a decent roasting pan under $100. Some were poorly rated for their flimsy handles and thin metal construction, others are made from that non-stick coating that releases gases that will kill any birds nearby (anyone remember why they used to send canaries down into the coal mines?), other pans were very small, some were safety-rated to only 350 degrees (which is scary - what happens when you go over that - does it melt, warp?), and yet another was a crock-pot style which roasts the turkey but had mixed reviews because the porcelain-type coating was off-gassing and chipped easily (why would I want to cook food in something that off-gasses or chips off into the food?) Finally found this pan, which is rated to 500 degrees and feels very solid. From what I can tell, it should be able to hold the 21-25 lb. size turkey that I typically cook for Thanksgiving, as long as I truss up the legs. The only thing I noticed is that it added to the cooking time. This weekend, I roasted an unstuffed 15 pound turkey which the turkey package said should cook in 3-3.5 hours, but it took 4.5 hours and I think it must be because this pan is significantly thicker than the crappy disposable pans I was using (it's not ridiculously heavy or anything, just solid). It's worth it to me to factor in the extra hour or so and not have the roasting pan bend or fall apart when I am putting the pan in the oven or taking the turkey out. I tented the top with foil and, after putting the turkey back in the oven for the additional hour and 15 minutes, it came out cooked out to perfection - moist and tender. The pan and rack were easy to clean and I can tell that this is the only roasting pan I will ever need to buy.
