I picked this set because a few people said that the low G wasn't wound. The set I got has a wound low G. I don't know if this is a newer development or not. I only recently installed them so I can't speak much as to whether I like them or not. I will update after playing with them for a few weeks.

I've been using the Red Series Low-G for a few years now, and in all my videos. It sounds really great, and has a raspy feeling only at the beginning. Then it becomes smoother with usage. It looks like most people here barely tried it out before writing their review. Love the Red Series Low-G and hope they keep on making it!Only problem: it's so durable that you can use the same string for over a year (so they won't sell that many haha)!

Ordine effettuato sabato sera, pacco arrivato martedì mattino.

Wow am i sorry i bought this. I got it for the low G string, and thats the problem. Its not like a nylon string, its rough and makes a rasp sound when you touch it. I researched to see if anyone else had this happen, and yes, the reviews are on the amazon uk site. I just dont know why anyone would rate this high. Ten bucks and its so distracting its not usable. Thanks a lot.Update... solved the problem by using a c string and tuning it down.

Trying the low G on a soprano ukulele was somewhat of a gamble for me. What I thought might be the case turned out to be true: the low G was somewhat louder than the rest of the strings. So what I did instead was switch the low G to another ukulele which was a concert size and the result came out with all the strings sounding balanced volume-wise. Of course this is all based on personal preference (and Interesting since I already have the same set except it's made for and on one of my tenor ukuleles. But there was no listing for a concert size set). Next I'll have to see if there's a Super nylgut set for a baritone ukulele. Still very glad to have an alternative from the Aquila Nylgut low G sets with the wound low G which have very short lifespans because they unwind and fray along the frets so quickly (which to Aquila's credit, they do warn you that is the case with their wound strings). I love having a uke with the low G option. Of course next I'll be crazy enough to want to string another baritone but with a high G string.

beautiful sound... great for jazz, bossa nova. Too "guitar sounding" for Hawaiian tunes
