Many professional engine builders prefer to use studs because of their ability to properly position the gasket and guide the cover into position. These studs are manufactured from black oxide finished chrome moly steel, and they are size 1/4-20 with an overall length of 1.170. This set of 16 studs comes complete with premium-quality washers and traditional hex style flanged lock nuts.

These did the trick. Mopar Performance aluminum cast valve covers and extra thick gasket and there was still thread to play with. 75 inch pounds into the aluminum heads. Also leaves a couple of studs for spares. Remember shiny side up on the washer.

The brand says it all. One would be hard pressed to bend these unlike the cheaper versions out there like Mr. Gasket.
