I bought this cover to replace the bulky one I bought. This makes the tree “look” a little bit more real and present can get up under the tree.

I moved our large artificial tree into the family room this year. When you look at it for hours the little things start bugging me. The green metal base was an issue. This really made a difference. Wrapped presents will also work, but we are going with this for now!

Using a fake tree for Christmas presents a unique challenge of covering up the ugly pole at the center of the tree. This year I was going to DIY this project with a swimming pool noodle and some bark printed fabric, but found this quick fix on Amazon! It is the perfect fit for our tree. It takes what was an unappealing site before and makes it much more presentable! It’s simple to install…all you do is wrap around the pole and velcro tight. The Velcro has a solid hold, so I’m not worried about it falling off randomly. It’s not overly thick or too thin either, which lends to its appeal. In the future I may add some additional thickness in an attempt to make it look more like a natural tree trunk, but that’s just a cosmetic thing that I find needs work.Overall this is a great solution for anyone who uses a fake tree and hates to look at an unattractive pole throughout the Christmas season! It’s easy to use and even easier to store away until next season!I would highly recommend!

I received a kind of pink shade tree bark pattern piece of foamy fabric with 2 small squares of Velcro. The Velcro does not stay closed (it doesn't run top to bottom, only has 2 small squares of it) so it shows the inside pattern (candy cane design that you can see from across the room). Terrible design, cheaply made and even worse inside pattern.

The wood print is very realistic looking, super easy to use and put on.The only downside I wish it was a little wider to cover more of the tree base (see pictures)The price is a little high, but I am still happy with my purchase.

This product is great for my living room Christmas tree. I had been thinking about this for the past few years and finally pulled the trigger. Material is a nice neoprene with a slight stretch to get around some of the structure that fake Christmas trees have on their base. Also love the fact that it is dual sided in case I ever get a white tree in the future! Only thing that I am not completely happy with is the placement of the Velcro. If I wanted to cut down my higher to fit more seamlessly the Velcro would be cut in half and possibly become loose due to how it is sewn on. However, my tree fits very nicely with the length it came so I did not have to cut!

Who would ever think that such a small product could completely change the look of my Christmas tree.LOVE this product!

Overall, the product isn't bad, it just ain't worth $15.75. The candy stripe reverse peeks through. I feel ashamed that I paid so much money for this--it's just a picture of wood on the fabric, not textured--it wouldn't fool anyone on close inspection. But it's better than looking at a shiny green pole and a bunch of cords. The Tree Hugger is pretty flexible, so it wants to wrinkle/kink unless perfectly trimmed. If you put this on your pole and then gather your tree skirt so it fits snugly around the base of The Tree Hugger (I used a binder clip on my tree skirt, but you could use a pin or safety pin), you can cover up the rest of your artificial tree base, but if you DON'T play with the tree skirt, too, you end up seeing the metal tree base AND the bottom of the Tree Hugger, so it looks even worse (like an empty toilet paper or paper towel ring). I have up to 4 Christmas trees--this product was not good enough to invest in 3 more; I ended up buying TEXTURED rubberized wood-look fabric (it's rubber on one side, fabric on the back) on Amazon (MCEAST Artificial Christmas Tree Bark Collar with Cable Tie Flexible Christmas Tree Bark Decor Accessories for Indoor Outdoor Decoration, 16 x 40 Inches)--for $9.99. The rubber fabric is too flimsy to use as a Christmas tree trunk wrap, so I just stiffened it up with a stiffer backing, stuck/stapled on Velcro and voila--it looks SO much better than The Tree Hugger, it's not even funny (although you still have to do the tree skirt trick to hide the cross-braces on an artificial tree base). The "Tree Hugger" is 8x8" flat, with only 8"x6.5" of wood-look material. I was able to cut AT LEAST 8 (10 if I had tried harder) squares of MCEAST's realistic textured rubber "wood" and adhere the pieces to a stiffer backing (super-cheap 5 mm EVA foam sheets from the craft store for some; I also made some with $2 stiff but rollable plastic placemats from Walmart--these are stiffer than foam AND stiffer than The Tree Hugger, which I prefer) and spray adhesive (I had 3-M's spray Super 77 on hand--but any adhesive that works on plastic or foam and fabric will do...you can even just do without adhesive and use staples on the short ends to keep both the rubber and the Velcro secure). I chose the spray adhesive because it is fast and flexible. Stick-on Velcro is cheap, too (you can even do without Velcro and use binder clips if, like me, your tree is up against a wall or in a corner). I chose to reinforce the Velcro with staples, but I think it would have held without. Total cost to MAKE 8 better-looking trunk wraps with just staples, wood-look rubber and 8 placemats: $3.25. If you purchase stick-on Velcro (you will need an 8" long strip for each trunk wrap; I paid $7.40 for 6 feet of it at Walmart) and a can of spray adhesive (3-M Super 77 is $12 at Walmart), each homemade wrap would still only be $5.68 (let's just say $6 each, with gas for the trip to Walmart), with lots of leftover adhesive spray and Velcro for other projects. Now that I have made these, honestly, I would just do the staples and the binder clips! Worth the effort for a realistic-looking tree trunk, and bragging rights.

This product came up as a suggestion when I ordered an extension piece for my artificial Christmas tree. The idea is neat and the advertised pictures looked promising so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately the actual product is a bust. It looks cheap which is no surprise since it is just a pixelated tree print on a piece of neoprene. The velcro doesn't have any length for adjustment so on a standard sized artificial tree pole the hugger doesn't so much hug as droop around the pole. The velcro also doesn't go to the very end so at certain angle you could see the candy cane print on the other side sticking out. I ended up returning this product and made my own collar for less than half the cost with some supplies from a nearby craft store.

It's great, Velcro is strong and it's soft. Better than expected.

When I opened the package, I was so disappointed with how the tree hugger looked. It looked extremely fake and I thought to myself ..well that’s going back! I took it and thought out of curiosity and just tried it around the tree thinking that it was going to look bad… And it was amazing! It looks completely real but keep this in mind when you’re taking it out of the package… Don’t knock it until you install it!
