I use these for many precious metel refining and casting purposes though they don't last forever they do put up a good fight till they Crack. I recommend allowing the crucible to cool slow if you really want to make them last . They can also take some the shock of cold drenching when need be .

The crucibles and wire tongs are fine except that the wire tongs cannot hold the small crucibles.The wire tongs are too large and the crucible falls out. If you look at picture one it would appear that the wire tongs come In two sizes: Large and small. They do not.Also the small crucibles are not 2.3 inches wide. They are 2.125 inches wide. This might explain why they don’t fit in the wire tongs. I am going to return items.
