I would not purchase this automatic door! Timer doesn’t not function to open or shut the door. Very frustrating device.

I bought this about 8 months ago and it’s still on the same set of Amazon batteries. It did freeze shut a couple times but overall I’m very happy with it.

Got this to let my chickens out at 6am and I was constantly having to go out an open it. Not worth the hassle.

For the price it works great. The tracks have to be perfect or it will jam up and not move. I would get one with remote when I need to replace Beau’s wife always wants me to manually shut the door when chicks are in

You know this automatic door must be good when I ordered a second time. Even though the ducks don’t always go inside like they should since we separated them from the chickens, it does open and close per the settings. Now, the first two I bought, we have on a chicken coop and the chickens know exactly what to do and they line up in the mornings just prior to the doors opening and once the doors are open, out they come. We watched those habits of when they go inside to roost for the night and set the doors to close about a half hour later. The funny thing is, if I want to close an automatic door for some reason, the second the chickens hear the sound of the door closing, they run as fast as they can to get inside. I just don’t know how anyone could ever have chickens and not have these doors. My suggestion is to get the battery operated ones like I have as I have a couple friends who both got the solar ones and they had several days this winter when there wasn’t enough sun to charge the solar panels so they had to be manually operated which really isn’t the intention of an automatic door.I had surgery in November and my battery operated doors gave me piece of mind that the chickens and ducks could go in at night and go out in the morning without me. I highly recommend these battery operated automatic chicken doors. Before I forget, the batteries last a long time and they are just the Dollar Tree $1.25 6 pack batteries. As yet, I have not had to change them and I think we actually installed the first set of doors a little over 6 months ago.
