Removing the main relay from first and second gen (NA & NB) Miatas requires a long skinny screwdriver carefully placed to push back the locking tab. There is a problem with this replacement relay (and many like it): This relay does not have an opening cut in the plastic of the plug to allow you to reach the locking tab with your long skinny screwdriver. This means is that once you install this relay, only the Good Lord can help you get it back out without damaging your fuse box - and it's going to take a miracle I assure you. There IS a workaround: You can utilize a rotary tool to cut a window in the plastic of the plug in the appropriate location. Considering you can buy 7 of these things for the price of one OEM relay, that might be worth your while. It's a good idea to have one of these in the glovebox as a backup because when the one in your car fails, you aren't going anywhere.
