I got exactly what I expected to get: a cheap hussle-free way to comply with the gun transporting laws.No keys to loose (I do realize that a combo lock is less reliable), and easy to pry or cut open if it jams. Hopefully it will last if I treat it nicely.I dont believe a lock box would offer much "protection" to begin with, really. Any lock box, cheap or more expensive, can be busted or simply stolen "as is".

You get what you pay for.. Lid is fairly flimsy. Could definitely pry open pretty easily with a screw driver or even a strong set of hands. Doubt a young child could get into it though perhaps a teenager.Overall, I wouldn't store guns or anything of significant value in this. For an easy deterrent from prying eyes in say a desk, it works well.

Got this for a 3 weeks trip. I used eventually to keep my Passport and Cash. When not in use its sleek enough to fit in my box.the number lock is okay and the item is just right for keeping a few items secure while on a trip. I got myself a stronger cable.

I travel with a pistol and this is nice for everything from the M&P to the 1911. I love it. Better than the big lock box I used to carrying the suitcase

Easy set combination. Good sized with an excellent foam-like interior. But the only issue that bothered me was that there was no closing "latch", the combo lock left the lid a wee bit wobbly.

I'm normally a fan of Barska products, which is why I bought this as a cheap transporatble save for my revolver. Unfortunately, after much work to open the safe, I could never get it to close. I tried messing with the alighment and jiggling the combination mechanism... but nothing worked.

I don't know if I received a used safe or what, but this thing was banged up, scratched up inside and out, and I could even open it by pushing down on its left side....the right side would open enough to see what's inside and maybe even pull something small out. I've never had any experience with Barska products, but I only heard good things about it. I returned it immediately. I got it 30 minutes ago, and it's already sitting in my front porch waiting to be picked up by UPS. For some reason, it was not new. It didn't come in its original hard-plastic package....it was covered with this thin, clear wrap, almost like the one used in the kitchen to cover leftovers. Awful!

I wanted another small tethered safe, with just a bit more space in terms of inner height, than what I had with my . And height was the only reason I didn't get another stackon. Well, this safe will work, but the construction compared to the stackon is shoddy. It's kind of a cheap lock and the metal doesn't appear to be as thick of a gauge, so when open the safe will kinda flex in your hands. There's no open switch, like the stackon, you simply pick the door up when the combo is right and it'll open.I was expecting a higher quality build since it cost a little more, but I supposed that was the wrong assumption to make. The only reason I haven't returned it is, my goal is to have 3 small safes, stashed about, instead of one large safe. I'll use this as a lockbox for the car, and get another stackon for my secondary in the house safe.I wouldn't use this as a gun safe, it would be too easy to compromise by someone determined. But as a place to put your cash, cards, mp3 player when you're parked someplace and can't take your items with you in your pockets for some reason (pool, concerts ,beach, strip club ;) ....etc ) yeah why not.
